My final month in NZ has begun!

Last Saturday Niki was up from Dunedin for her mummy's graduation (congratulations Adrienne!) and we had a girly catch up over homemade apple and cinnamon pancakes and fresh coffee.

Look at that cape .. isn't she fabulous??

Monday = Birthday dinner for Father Dearest. A year closer/one away from the big Five Oh and we aren't letting him forget it!

Although looking at this you'd never know. Who said age = maturity??

Tuesday = The birth of Florence Rose, my beautiful goddaughter. Emma and Dan have done such a beautiful job - she is adorable and I love her so very much already. Will have to get a huge dose of cuddles and kisses and just generally soak her up as much as I can in the next four weeks :(

Wednesday = DANNY BHOY!!!! Which involved a road trip to the Oamaru and back.

The best part of Oamaru by far is Victorian Oamaru. Victorian Oamaru has trains.

I like trains. A lot.

Some of you may remember this from my last visit to Victorian Oamaru ..

Am very much looking forward to riding trains with Maddy again .. only this time in Europe!

This is the Oamaru Opera House. The lights rotate in colour and patterns .. it's pretty wicked.

As well as squealing at the pretty lights Gemma, Aaron and I ate a lot ...

custard squares ...

afghans ...

and a pub meal at Fat Sally's.

This is my Danny face.

He was fantastic. I couldn't believe he was right there, only four rows away!! I grinned like an idiot from start to finish, which resulted in very sore cheeks! The show was very funny, with enough fresh material to satisfy our hungry appetites, but with a few old favs thrown in the mix too. He is a comedian not to be missed and I really hope to see him again in the near future.

As a side note though, I would NOT recommend driving to Oamaru and back in under 12 hours. It's just painful. We were miserable by the time we got to Ashburton and Leeston broke me when I realised my bed was still 45 minutes away. As Gemma and I walked in the door at 1.30am we both looked at each other and said "Was it worth it?" .. and with a guilty look we both realised at that very moment our honest answer would be "I'm not so sure". But a couple of good nights sleep later and I definitely don't regret our decision to go. I just think next time I'd spend extra money and book into a backpackers for the night :)

Thursday = Overtired hysterical Caitlin. Not good. There were tears. But there were Florence cuddles too :) And Project Runway ... Hot Mess!

Friday = A 45 minute hoola session whilst watching Glee. Oh yes, you heard me right. I hoola. You're jealous, I can tell! I could never do it as a kid, so I am pretty proud of myself that only after a few sessions I can have it rotate constantly for an episode. Hooray!

Saturday/Today = A trip out on Lyttelton Harbour with ... The Canterbury Coastguard. Ohhhhh yeaaaah!!! Best morning EVER!! It was so amazing - it will deserve its own post once the photos come through!

As it was such a beautiful day, Gemma and I decided to go for a walk round the cliff track this afternoon.

Do you like my new cap? Some really cool cats gave it to me :P

After our walk we decided we deserved an iceblock.

We love Grapefruit and Lemon Frujus. They are deliciously fruity and tart and just what you want on a hot day after struggling up the hill.

Speaking of the heat .. who would have thought May could have provided such weather huh?

Remind me why I'm leaving again???? Seriously what can beat this??

Oh that's right .. Switzerland has trains.

Love to all!
